Dan Isomura has been creating works related to the circulation of water since his student days. “An enormous amount of water is spread across the vast earth, but a cup of tea in front of you is also composed of an immeasurable number of water molecules. If a cup of tea passes through the body and is dispersed evenly around the globe over a long period of time, then a cup of seawater scooped from the ocean would contain about 10 of the same water molecules that made up the tea.” Inspired by this scientific fact, Isomura made such works after reflecting on the importance of imagining connections with events and people that one had no connection to, and with beings that one had no idea existed. Through his work for Oshibori Linkage, Isomura hopes to create opportunities to imagine infinte human connections that blend into daily life.
